Shabbir Ahmed, a novelist, short story writer and translator from Kolkata was a senior bureaucrat retired from the post of Additional Director, Govt. of West Bengal. He has translated many works for repute institutions like Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, NCPUL, New Delhi and West Bengal Urdu Academy, Kolkata and won many awards.
