Jaiñtia Garments

Jaiñtia Garments is a visual glossary of traditional Jaiñtia garments illustrated by Arak Sangma. This book was published by Sauramandala Foundation, Meghalaya, as part of The Forgotten Folklore Project (TFFP) which brings to life 65 stories from communities in Meghalaya and other northeastern states of India. The books, developed in collaboration with local artists, aim to contribute to early childhood education and disseminate knowledge on local nature, culture, foods, garments, kitchens, and more.

The book is a part of the ‘Garment Series’ within the TFFP. Others in the series include Khasi Garments and Garo Garments. The 16-page glossary is also available in Bahasa Indonesia on Storyweaver by Pratham Books.
