ਮੋਂਪਾ ਵਿਆਹਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਗਾਉਂਣ ਦੇ ਬਦਲੇ ਕਰਚੁੰਗ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਬਦਲੇ ਪਕਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਲੇਲੇ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੰਗੀਤਕ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹਕ ਰਸਮ ਨੂੰ ਅਸ਼ੀਰਵਾਦ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਲਾੜੀ ਦਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਦਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।ਜਦੋਂ ਮੋਂਪਾ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਜੀਅ ਵਿਆਹ ਲਈ ਰਾਜੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਦੋ ਦਿਨ ਦਾ ਰਸਮ-ਸਮਾਗਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਲਾੜੇ ਦੇ ਕੁੜੀ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਜਾਣ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਥੇ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਲਾਹਣ ‘ਆਰਾ’ ਪੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਵੱਡੀ ਦਾਵਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੱਚਦੇ ਤੇ ਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਕਰਚੁੰਗ ਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਸਾਜ ਦੇ। ਅਗਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਲਾੜਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਨਵ-ਵਿਆਹੀ ਵਹੁਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਵਾਪਸ ਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।ਕਰਚੁੰਗ ਦਾ ਅਸਲੀ ਨਾਮ ਤਾਂ ਰਿੰਚਿਨ ਤਾਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਕਰਚੁੰਗ ਵਜੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਅਰੁਣਾਚਲ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਪੱਛਮੀ ਕਾਮੇਂਗ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੰਗਪਾ ਰੋਡ ’ਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਛੋਟੀ ਜਿਹੀ ਕਿਰਿਆਨੇ ਦੀ ਦੁਕਾਨ ਚਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸੰਗੀਤ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰੇਡੀਓ ਸੰਗੀਤ ਤੋਂ ਝਲਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਦੌ ਰਾਨ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਵੱਜਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕਰਚੁੰਗ ‘ਆਰਾ’ ਬਾਰੇ ਵੀ ਇੱਕ ਗੀਤ ਗਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ। “ਮੈਂ ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਜਾਂ ਮਿੱਤਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਾਂਬਾਤਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਵੇਲੇ ਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ,” ਉਹ ਦੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ।ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਧਰਮ-ਪਤਨੀ ਪੇਮ ਜੋਂਬਾ, 53, ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਹਿਣ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦੀ ‘ਬੌਸ’ ਹਨ। ਪੇਮ ਹੀ ਹਨ ਜੋਂ ਉਪਜਾਊ ਘਾਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਏਕੜ ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ’ਤੇ ਖੇਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। “ਅਸੀਂ ਚਾਵਲ, ਮੱਕੀ, ਬੈਂਗਣ, ਕੌੜੇ ਬੈਂਗਣ, ਲਾਈ ਸਾਗ, ਪਿਆਜ ਅਤੇ ਪੱਤਾ-ਗੌਭੀ ਉਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ,” ਉਹ ਦੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ। ਚਾਵਲ, ਬਾਜਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਬਜੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਜ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾਤਰ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵਰਤ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਦੇ-ਕਦਾਂਈ ਵਾਧੂ ਉਪਜ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਰੰਗ ਬਲਾਕ ਦੇ ਰਾਮਾ ਕੈਂਪ ਦੀ ਹਫ਼ਤਾਵਾਰੀ ਮਾਰਕਿਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੇਚ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਇਸ ਜੋੜੇ ਦੇ ਪੰਜ ਬੱਚੇ ਹਨ— ਦੋ ਧੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਪੁੱਤ।
ਦੋਵੇਂ ਧੀਆਂ ਰਿੰਚਿਨ ਵਾਂਗਮੂ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਗ ਦਰੇਮਾ ਵਿਆਹੁਤਾ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਦੇ-ਕਦਾਂਈ ਮਿਲਣ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ
ਹਨ। ਵੱਡਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਪੇਮ ਦੋਂਦੂਪ ਮੁੰਬਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਟਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ੈੱਫ ਦੇ ਤੌਰ
’ਤੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਦੋ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰ ਹੀ ਘਰ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਲੀਕੀ ਖਾਂਡੂ,
ਵਿਚਕਾਰਲਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਇੱਕ ਸਾਜੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਘਾਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਟਿਕਾਊ ਸੈਰ-ਸਪਾਟਾ ਪਹਿਲਕਦਮੀ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਹੈ।
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋ ਛੋਟਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਨਿਮ ਤਾਸ਼ੀ, ਦਿਰੰਗ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੋਂਪਾ ਭਾਈਚਾਰਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਮੂਲ ਤਿੱਬਤ ਤੋਂ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ
ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਬੌਧੀ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਲੱਕੜ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ, ਬੁਣਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਚਿੱਤਰਕਾਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਪੁੰਨ ਹਨ। 2013
ਦੀ ਇੱਕ <a href="https://ruralindiaonline.org/en/library/resource/statistical-profile-of-scheduled-tribes-in-india-2013/">ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ</a> ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ 43,709 ਹੈ। ਕਰਚੁੰਗ ਨਾ ਸਿਰਫ ਇੱਕ ਗਵਈਏ ਹਨ ਸਗੋਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਹਲੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ
ਪਰਕਸ਼ਨ ਸਾਜ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। “ ਬਜ਼ਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਢੋਲ [ਸਥਾਨਕ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਿਲਿੰਗ] ਦੀ ਕੀਮਤ
10,000 ਰੁਪਏ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਵਿਹਲੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਆਪ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ,” ਉਹ PARI ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ। 





ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਦੁਕਾਨ ਦੀ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਵਿਹੜੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਗਾਈਆਂ ਸਬਜੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ
ਮੱਕੀ ਦੇ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਸਨ ਤਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਤਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ
ਗਾਉਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਹ ਮੌਖਿਕ ਗੀਤ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਦਰ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਚਲਦੇ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁਝ
ਸ਼ਬਦ ਤਿੱਬਤ ਮੂਲ ਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਮੁਸ਼ੱਕਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਦੁੱਧ ਤੋਂ ਬਣਾਇਆਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਖੰਭ ਥੰਗ ਥੰਗ ਕਰਮੋ** ਤੋਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ...*ਦਾਦਰ ਇੱਕ ਰਸਮੀ ਤੀਰ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਜੀਵਨ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਆਂ, ਲੰਮੀ ਉਮਰ, ਚੰਗੀ

The last available data of the Centre for Media Studies (CMS, Delhi) show us that reports from New Delhi account for 66 per cent of news on the front pages of major dailies. The CMS data also found that just about 0.24 per cent of front page news came out of rural India. The TV channels are not much better.PARI exists to change that.We are a non-profit organisation.
