Crimes against women wear many faces, as these stories on sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) show us. Sex work, migration, gender-affirmation surgery and a policewoman’s fight for justice against her superior officers, feature here. Underlying all this are patriarchal norms of how women must behave, the normalisation of violence against females, and the trafficking of young girls under the guise of ‘love’. What the law and how it says it, and how long it takes to move, is also covered across the spectrum of gender crimes.
